This thread is very old. It is only still going because the odd question pops up and I am happy to answer them.
The engine was sold and the guy who bought it didnt have the funds to set up a compound turbo at least for now, so I made a high flow CT26 (not over top, just std CT26 with 1HDFTE 46/65mm comp wheel). He has fitted an intercooler and 3" exhaust. After a tune up the results will be posted.
Some of you guys who ask all these questions - I wonder if you actually read the posts first or have any idea how long it takes to do some of these projects while having a life......
I love doing the theory and happy to share it, but the theory/engineering needs to happen before a build. The potential combinations are so varied that you would stand a better chance of winning lotto than going and getting two off the shelf turbos that your mates mate thinks look big enough and bolt them up with a 6" exhaust and achieve amazing results!
Getting it into practice takes time and sometimes doesnt happen for a myriad of reasons. My ideas to reality ratio probably exceeds 10^10:1......

i just turboed a 2h and it is sweet, got a manifold from ROTAMASTER in melbourne, used a t60 turbo rated at 550hp, put the snorkle on the left hand side, ran a oil feed from the block and an oil return straight down to the sump. the only tricky bit was the dump pipe, i used one of a rb30 turbo that was in a patrol. but that is pretty much it. no blow off valve, intercooler or oil cooler. Just a turbo timer, boost guage and a pyro guage.

A couple of problems there. A t60 is completely the wrong turbo for a 2H, the 2H isn't strong as the 12HT and the turbo timer isn't needed.buff man wrote:hey trev1

sure was the wrong turbo, was'nt enough exhaust gas to spool it properly. got a t04E on it now and it is still a tad big but spools up heaps betterKiwiBacon wrote:A couple of problems there. Still way too big unless you are using a modified fuel pump, an intercooler and looking to over 200rwkw
