class 8 shock / spring setup

Hey all,
I am slowly building up my 80 series for class 8, trying to keep costs down as much as possible, not aiming to win, just wanna get out and have some fun really, and since the US dollar is good at the moment looking at some FOA gear.
Just doing the front for now, as I still use the truck for work so don't want to cut the floor out of the back yet.

Was thinking of going with the 2.5" coilover remote res coilover http://f-o-a.com/shop/index.php?main_pa ... ducts_id=6, aswell as a 2.5" triple bypass shock http://f-o-a.com/shop/index.php?main_pa ... ucts_id=15
Now is this setup overkill? Could i get away with just the coilover alone? maybe with some hydrulic bumpstops? Its running a alloy 6L V8 that is mounted as far back as it can be. May even look at cutting the firewall down the track to get it back further for weight balance.
Or should I just keep the coils and get the triple bypass shocks?

Wanted to go the coilovers for height adjustment, so I can still use it for harder 4wding, aswell as racing, But its not hard to swap coils I guess

Any comments welcome, as I am just starting out in this side of the sport

What length are you looking at for the coilovers?

Remember a 2.5" shock only has a small coil and cannot be tuned for a lot of travel and smooth ride over small stuff.
You may get away with if if you are only chasing 10-12", but if you are looking for more you need a bigger coil.

Adding a set of triples would be my choice. Triple are better for high speed work. Coilovers and triples would be the best, lot of money and work though. When using triples and coilovers, the coilover is mainly being used as a coil carryer and some basic dampening, leaving the triple bypass to control the dampening side of things.
Would have look at how much space you have, from experiance with a patrol space is limited in the rear for putting triples in place of the orginal dampeners, in the front space is limited by the brake master cylinder. Not sure about the Land cruisers, would be well worth getting under neath and having a measure, may affect your final choice.
Would look at doing both ends as well, the differance in mine between the front and rear is huge. As soon as I start driving hard the front just smashes around where as the rear soaks everything up, Very frustrating.

Hey all,
Am leaning towards just sticking with the coils and gettin some triple bypass., mainly for ease of fitting, lot easier to set up and less fab work.

Am thinking prob a 10" in the front, and 12" rear, still have to measure up to see what will fit.

Am just running the standard 80 series link set up for now, As I said just wanna go out and have some fun really to start with.

They are fox 2.5" with the big 7/8 shafts, black current coloured ends, remote res.
They are brand new (one in wrapping one only half in wrapping as I had a geeze
They are too long / short for my project as I need 14" front and 18 rear.
