Trying to get a torque conv build to match my 454 to my infiniti auto. Bell housing is the standard patrol 4.2. Anyone had a h/duty torque conv built for a patrol auto (as they are very similiar size) and if so any chance of specs or contact details for the shop that built it so the guys up here can ask some questions. They can build one no probs but it may affect the stall in it. Not to keen on trial and error for this..
Any tips or leads would be appreciated.

h/duty torque converters
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..
Re: h/duty torque converters
I had my race converter built by QCES, QLD converter engineering service (to handle around 600 hp). They are in stafford. I'm sure he could build a custom jobbie for you. His prices were very reasonable too.
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
Re: h/duty torque converters
Are you running the patrol auto.? the guys who have my parts are a bit concerned that the diamater of the torque conv in the standard patrol bell housing may cause it to "stall up" to high. I am building this to tow my patrol wagon around so dont want a big stall. What eng/box are you running.?BadMav wrote:I had my race converter built by QCES, QLD converter engineering service (to handle around 600 hp). They are in stafford. Re: h/duty torque converters
Sorry PB, that was my drag car I was talking about. The stall in it is higher than the redline in the mav The thought has crossed my mind to put it in though I'd put the C4 in as well. Not sure the paddy slushboxes would handle alot. Besides that, the mav has a hands-on cog swapper.

Re: h/duty torque converters
Wholesale automatics do a "low stall" torque convertor aimed at V8 conversions here in Melbourne.
Probably their upgraded valve bodies would also suit the Infinity trans as well.
