Best way to mount a jd2 bender???
Just got myself a model 3 jd2 bender. Anyone got one of these and can show me how they mount it?
Heard the pins cease up if u don't grease them is this true? Also need to know where to mount the degree wheel pin. Any help would be great.

Even though it is hydro, does it roll around or move at all when bending??Harb wrote:Mines a model 4 but you could do it the same way.......

No hydro doesn't move around as the ram levers against itself along the lower horizontal large plate in the index locating cutouts.
Manual needs to be anchored to the ground.

Re: Best way to mount a jd2 bender???
Yeah it comes with a plate to bolt it too. I just welded the plate to 4 bits of tube and then welded a floor plate to that n dyna bolted that to the floor, i take it off when im not using it as its in the driveway.morewheeldrive wrote:Did u mount yours using the two big bolts that go through to the base closest to the handle?joshy wrote:cant mount it the same way if its not hydrualic

Ours in on a stand, but while the stand is out of the ground we just have it done up FT in a metal vice.

Re: Best way to mount a jd2 bender???
Easy, look on the jd2 site and see what they have for sale.
I made on thet looks like an H bolted to the floor, a 75 x 75 tube then a small plate with 2 bolt holes.
go bigger then you think as there is a lot or torsion

Harb,
How do you rat ethe model 4.
can't decide between the 2 (32 and 4)
I had a 3 so the 32 will be a no brainer to use - and the 4 is backwards, but thats a minor issue.
How do you rate the air / hydro?
cheers bru

Re: Best way to mount a jd2 bender???
hi mate,
I use bendtech software and find they work really well once you calibrate the dies to the software........really works well.
I guess it just comes down to personal choice really, had the model 32 been around when I brought the mod4 I may have gone down that path to save some bucks, but I really like the super heavy duty build of the model 4..... it truly is a production bender that will see me out well and truly.
The air hydro works well...a bit slow maybe, but at least it makes you not rush in and over bend by going to quick.
The electric Hydro pump is great if you want more speed, but I just wanted to be able to watch the bend while its happening, and the Air/Hydro does that fine
I am soon to put a tubebandit on it so I have a digital readout to make 100% repeatable bends( Soon as he finishes development that is ! )...... not sure if they have them for mod 32....they probably have.

its a god cheap way to make a good bender better....
