I see a lot of stainless or "plastic" snorkels but hardly any custom aluminum ones, is there a reason? I can get 1/8" thick wall 4" aluminum tube for way cheaper than stainless. I'm pretty sure it'd be plenty strong and easier to paint.
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
David

Re: Aluminum Snorkel, why not?
Seen plenty in alloy. Doesnt even need to be 1/8, can be 1/16th But it is harder to weld, and dents easier and painted is not as bling as polished stainless.Abitibi wrote:I see a lot of stainless or "plastic" snorkels but hardly any custom aluminum ones, is there a reason? Re: Aluminum Snorkel, why not?
Mine was made with off cuts
Just tidied up the hole afterwars with a bit of half cut rubber hose.
That snorkel cost me nothing at all to make just about 2 hours of time.
