early hilux prices

Post by Guy »

In Vic what sort of $$ would I be looking at for an early Lux ( say around 84 or so)

Initally will not need any mods at all .. (but I am not against em either) as I will be using it as a bit if a workhorse for moving things like old furniature etc . so lift and big rubber would actaully be a PITA ..

would I get away with $2000 ?? for something close to roadworthy
(does not have to be pretty either just reliable... spay packs are cheap :D )

I brought a 79 single cab Lux for $800.00. It had a burnt valve in the engine which cost me $120.00 to fit. It came with 4 new tyres and rims which would have been worth $800.00. It had one month reg and I paid the following 12 months which was $401.00. It has a steel tray not a tub but it can fit heaps more in than a tub. It had only a small rust spot in the L/H front guard and the fuel guage doesn't work. Other than that it's a great ute.

Sounds like exactly the sort of thing I would be after.. so the deals are out there .. will just have to keep my eyes out and the cheque book handy. (exact year\model is not important)

Thanks
