This my 80 on 35's with a 4 inch lift. From memory I had a 1inch spacer in at that stage as well, but have since removed it. There is plenty of room for 36's with just the 4 inch, no need for anything bigger.

Always had the car on 6" springs, and got a set of 4" springs hanging around that i want to use now, so i was wondering if the 36" et2 i got would look weird on 4".

I had 35" MTZs on my 80 with 4" lift with no clearance problems.
Wheel offset will play a part. standard offset shouldnt cause any problems

4" lift and 35 muddies.
You can run 15x10 steelies with a neg 44 offset (like in the pic) without any problems if you set up your panhard rod correctly with slightly off to 1 side. So both wheels tuck evenly.

Thanks guys for the effort, but i have already had 35" muddies before and know that they fit fine... its the 36" et2 which i am not convinced will fit well.
I think i am just going to start with the 4" springs and see how it goes.
This is how my previous cruiser sat with 6" + 36" et2, so i think small springs will only cause problems.

Different tyre brands are different sizes for the same branded size. Ive found simex to be smaller and their 36" to measure out to the same as the 35'"s I had previously.

hey mate. I got three to four lift plus two in the body running 36/13/16 swampers tsl. prevously a had 35 maxis mudzilers and found they are a fair bit smaller. i've done nothing to my bumps stops and get very little scrub. have found a rock getting between the wheels and gaurd once. my biggest issue i have is hitting my exhaust both front and back in the wheel arch. I personaly wouldn't like to run them without body blocks but. i guess there is allways a way.
