Anyon used a 4.5T PowerLift Clear floor hoist ?

Post by SteelArt »

Looking for a bigger hoist than my current 3T unit and was considering a 4.5T Powerlift Clear floor off a local guy. Anyone ever used one ?

Buddy has a top support hoist. Not sure on brand but looks a very good unit when I was visiting the other weekend.

I'm in the market for one too shortly (after shed)

I know nothing about them.
I was planning on a 3t 2 post (clear floor).

Are you better with a 3k ebay hoist or a s/h brnad name?

Does a 3T lift 3t or is that max load and they only lift 2 well?

cheers bru

You can get the 4.5T Clear floor powerlift for $2860 inc GST off Col ATM.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/solid-make-2-pos ... 255dce37e9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It has a few nice features such as even length arms etc.

As for new or second hand, Bru with your usual budget and like on nice stuff I would go new as I doubt it will ever wear out in a hobby shed. I know my hoist at home spends most of its life with a project car sitting on it as opposed to the ones where I use to work that were up and down many times a day 6 days a week.

I had in Germany cable, hydraulic and thread rod car hoists. All from 3t - 4.5t and i would only buy a thread rod car hoist again.
All the other type hoists need a lot of attention and maintenance and have a lot of parts there can fail. The cable driven ones been the worse.
My best hoist was a 4.5t dual engine thread rod hoist with an axle connecting both sides. This axle was running on the bottom and not on the top and was sitting in the concrete floor.
If i would but one here in Australia, i would buy a good used one. I think there are still better than new cheap ones.
The only what fails on a thread rod hoist are the bushes. But they last around 10 years at daily use and are only ~$300 to replace.

I really can not understand how a car hoist can cost only ~3k - my ones been all around 7k to 10k new.
It can not be that tuff or it is made in China?

China,

trust me I was going to buy a bendpak, but when you compared the two the Chinese power lift one actually seams stronger in the design.

Damn - looks like China takes over - i dont really like this idea.
First the japans killed in the '80 a lot of good car, bike and electronic brands.
And now i see people with HTC mobile phones and china lockers, winches and even cars - and they are happy with the products.

Hmm - looks like the country with the lowest salarys and safety standards will rule the world. Just wired...

Eh? Ich versteht dich nicht. Dein Engrish ist nicht so gut :finger:

I've seen plenty going on auctions and insolvency auctions/graysonline. might be a cheaper way to go to get a better model.

Ok, have ended up getting a scissor lift as it fits in my shed better than a 2 post and when it is down it stays out of the way, which is good for room.

So if anyone wants a 3 Tonne FORMULA 2 post hoist then drop me a PM or keep an eye on eBay.
