Welding new mounts on chassis for tray

Making ally tray for a mate and am up to mounting some C section to chassis to support tray. Was looking at the original mounts (hilux 96 model) and are not what i want so am looking at fabbing up some better mounts to weld to chassis at the same height and easy access for bolting. What came to mind was the topic of the rock sliders welded to chassis that needed to be engineered so i assume the same goes for tray mounts? Can i get some idea's what others have done to mount trays as i'd rather purpose built brackets instead of blocks or square tube etc to pack out the c section.

run rhs across the front......mounts closest to the cab..... (90degrees to the chassis rails)
run rhs........across the last mounts.....or holes you can pick up at the very rear of the chassis....(90 degrees....)
then run rhs parralel with the chassis rails...
some chassis arent parralel.....all the way....
just make the width the same......
BUT DONT have the RHS hanging PAST the chassis..where the TYRE SITS...as the tyre could flex......and scrub the rhs like mine....

run some flat bar of the last two remaining mounts...8mm thick.....and sit angle on top.......and pick up the rhs that runs along the chassis......goes from the front to the rear....
these lengths are 2280.....single cab......1980 xtra cab...... and 1580 dualcab..
extra cab has 6 mounts.....
single has 8...
dualcab has 6....
width is generally 1826 overall....
make it what you want....length or width....
but make sure rope rail wont scrub on tyre when loaded...or flexing.
this is the easiest way to build a tray.....

you also need to remember you need to have clearance otherwise the tyre will scrub the underside floor...
distance between bump stop and top of axle......needs to be less than tyre to floor....

rhs will give you the clearance required....other wise....you have to go to the effort of making mounts......up......TIME
which is a pain......
after all its a tray.....
no one will look at your mounts and go wow.......thats cool.....
its the tray itself that will get looked at.....

people comment on the style of tray made.....custom or not...
not how its underside is designed.....

im a body builder.
you can weld mounts on...
but its generally never done..
theyre already their....

just trying to make it easy....
