We will split the camping up into compeditorsand officials who wish to be asleep by 11pm in the camp kitchen area. the spectating families who don't wish to stay up with the young psssheads can stay next to this area also. then we will put plenty of grass between those who value some sleep and those who dont you guys will stay closer to the night stage. well let you know when you arrive

Don't panic you shouldn't need a snokel Water may get to top of tyre, but thats it, been raining in gladstone and miriam vale all day

Troy & Clint and a few others went down today so by tomorrow arvo we should know how the rain is going to affect us.


I'm heading down tomorrow with truck and trailer so we will se how it goes to get them into the camp area

I'm down here now and it has been a steady drizzle all day!! So there will definately be plenty of water and water holes next weekend!
So just a message to everyone, please make sure you do have a snorkel or if the airbox is your highest
point make sure it isn't sucking.air in through the guards!! I personally would run a snorkel just for peace of
mind and for a bit of insurance on your engine! It won't matter if the water is super deep if
you get a splash or surge of water in the wrong place it could be and expensive problem! So even if
you run the air intake into the cab or halfway up the window at least it's one less thing you will have to worry about and will be able to attack the water head on with no worries!!

if youve got a snorkel it works better on the car that in the box in the shed you shouldn,t need it at t his st age but ive seen cars drown just by hitting water 14 inches deep at speed some cars don't even like a small bit of water

water is only up about about 100 mm from last week and i don't see any probs there . not shaw how it will go after the first 30 - 40 cars though.
right now its very slipery though, and some of the drivable walls will now need a winch to get up hopr your team has at least 1 good one or 2 or 3. they will get used but with slipery comes awsome fun and no dust car lovers well love this event

And cant wait for this weekend, the property is a bit wet under foot, and the hills are greasy, but a bit more right foot and im sure a few of you may make it to the top

And just a heads up for the navies, a few stages are quite rocky, and with a bit of water is mega slippery!! so if your usuall traction aids are footy boots it may be wise to pack a pair of softer soled shoes aswell!

Funny you should say that mate, it was the first thing I done after the cq challenge! After watching the mud sprints (dirtsprintz) on the weekend, can't wait to get down there and let the diesel go. Mud will be flying - hope you got good windscreen wipers davey

hey dave & brian ,phil and anyone driving truck or towing trailer after talking to dowie about the granett creek entrance he feels it would be safer to do the extra half hour or so to turn at mirriamvale and follow the signs as 2 hills in this road are a bit greezy until they get a few days of sun.

I was going to take the Lowmead turnoff on the Bruce and go all the way in the village and then turn left to wards Miriam Valve then left in Clarkes Rd. Can just take the 80 off the trailer if its gets slippery and pull the tranny up the hills.

taking the car off on the two hills is an option just so long as your pre warned and if we get 2 days sun should be ok depending on traffic

yes all spectaters will need to see me or one of the officials at the shed (camp kitchen ) in the compediters camp area to get there arm band, security will be checking arm bands all weekend and any one that does not have one will be asked to pay the $25 weekend pass to get one .

how to get to comp from mirriamvale
turn right if your heading north or left if heading south and head toward 1770/ agnes water. proceed 6 km along this road. then turn right at lowmead road. drive 25 km ( slow down for sharp left while still on the bitcheman and stay slow until your over the bridge big bump !! youll see why after you hit it ) after the 25km youll go under a rail bridge turn right just after this continue straight for about 7 km then you have reached petrol head paradise on your right ill try to moniter ch 9 follow your nose till you get to the farm house you may meet clarky there ? compediters will camp a bit further along this road on the other side of the lake if this area is to wet for trucks well let you know.

hey brian, your truck will make it over john clifford way to lowmead no worries at all and will save you driving an extra 70kms. The turn off on the bruce hwy is 40km south of miriam vale about 500mts before granite creek rest area
