onboard air compressor
ive been looking at a few ways ie BOSS with tank ,endless air but what about having an inverter and running a 240v compressor ?

Re: onboard air compressor
would be to bulky i would think . in my oppinion spending the $350 plus on an inverter then buying the compressor. would almost be the same as an endless air set up
Re: onboard air compressor
Here's mine. All 17cfm of it. Runs off inverter as you can see.
can i use a mate to position while i screw?
Re: onboard air compressor
thats the go mate so you only need a 150 inverter ?? that looks like a pretty big compresor i was just gona get a 2.5 hp one, the 150 watt one should do it fine hey ??
Re: onboard air compressor
That compressor has a 3.0hp motor. So you might get away with a smaller inverter. Maybe just solar panels.

Re: onboard air compressor
are you taking the p#ss bro solar panals i was just asking cause the 150watt seemed small on ebay it says they do mobile phones and cd players
Re: onboard air compressor
Yes mate. Sorry. Thought you were playing along.
Don't think an inverter exists that is big enough for any compressor. Also being a 3hp, a generator big enough to run it would cost thousands and not exactly portable. 8kva or bigger. Pic was done as a joke long time ago.
That inverter is only to do as you say, charge small batteries for cameras, laptops etc.
What are your needs for a compressor? If just any size, go an ARB. If you really need bigger then Boss would be fine. Just thirsty on the amps.
