Man o man, what a busy 24 hours! I'm definately going to have a nanny nap whilst floating on a car tube in the lagoon!
Thanks heaps to Trev Adam and sunny from down at Stay On Track for pulling some 2am finishes over the last couple of nights to get the cruiser completely finished or I wouldn't be racing that's for sure!

But we are now loaded up and just leaving Gladstone so in 1:45 mins we will be unloaded and ready for a swim! Yeeehaaa,

for everyone travelling have a safe trip and take it easy! Don't rush to come get your ass whoop by a busted arse old sooty cruiser :finger:

Monday morning and its 2am, just got back to Mackay from an amazing weekend at Lowmead, can't sleep don't know if it's the residual adrenilin from the event or just too much caffeine!!

Cheers to all that made this event possible, pity about the rain but that just made half the stages more fun!! and the other half a sh!t load harder... Can't wait for the next one.

Thanks to all the Distraction guys and girls for coming down, a long drive but i hope it was worth it for your first event ever!! but what an intro..

Thanks a lot
Simon

Yep unreal weekend. Thanks to Troy, Troy, Dowie and the rest of the organise commiting and volunteers for a top comp for the first time around. Sweet tracks and the rain made it even more exciting. And Clarkey, top play ground and thanks for the cuppa at presentation. Team Blue Dog racing 3rd place thanks to our team that worked really well for the first time together, even managed to win stage 3 with Paul breaking a front axle and Mosko a right hand hub and left cv in the creek. Top effort. And our awsome Crazy eyes winches, they did not miss a beat. Awsome weekend, cannot wait for next year. JRC Photographics will have some photos up on his facebook page sometime today.
Cheers.

Yup was a good first try event.
Gladstone 4wd club did a good job and am counting down to next year. My only big negative would be the lack of safety barriers for the night events It could have been a serious problem if something went wrong thankfully it didnt. I would also have a larger advertising campaign for the bundy region.
I seriously think with fine tuning could be an even bigger and better event in the future. I would be more than happy to discuss with gladstone 4wd club other points for improvements, I have been involved in the running of other 4wd park events around australia. I have also plpayed a big part in logistical movements whilst in the army.

But once again good job!

Haha, I'm more aerodynamic running that way!! And I'm a little suss on you curran boys so don't want you getting a nice frontal photo of me.....

On a littl more serious note, Awesome comp!!
Had an absolute blast and to get a good placing for a change means I didn't have to cry myself to sleep,

I like to thank: phil and Scotty from Blue Dog Custom barwork for the awesome new barwork and the new approach angle helped heaps!!
Crazy eyes for doing a heap of jobs for me where if he hadn't helped I wouldn't have had 24volt connected up to the winch to pull us out of that sticky mud time after time! Man I'm glad I had it bolted to the front bar! Haha
also thanks to Benny the cruiser lover, Nick and wardy for helping out doing bits and pieces aswell it's greatly appreciated!

Thanks to Trev and Adam from Stay On Track in Gladstone for putting in a few 2am finishes to finish off even more jobs that ha to be done aswell!!

This comp is going to grow into something great for our region and as sone have pointed out the issues that arose over the weekend will be all adressed and be non existent next year!!
So thanks to the comittee, all of the sponsors, Clarky the property owner and absolute top bloke, and all of the competitors! Great to see once again the veterans giving hints and tips to the new guys! Hopefully they come back next year and bring some mates with them!!

So with that rant over Bring on next year!!

Final tally sweet. I vote the rally cross be in again next year on the Friday night before drinks, Saturday night and reverse Sunday. That course was a blast. We did it secound last team on Sunday after the heavens opened once again and total out of control fun. Maybe next year Troy/ Dowie throw in a creek crossing so we can wash the windscreen half way through. We emptied the washer bottle on one the Sunday run.

well we do have a creek crosing that could do just that and its only 50 m or so from the rally track, but i think half windscreen depth water in a running creek is a bit crule after the day you guys had. would have been a good place for the wenches to wash there shirts ;) :D

im all ears tell me how we can run a comp that lets the new guys have a run before spending the big bucks and doing irreversable mods to a car to see if the sport is for them, a comp that is not boring that would only attract brumbys, kia reos and rav 4's. we get feed back from previous CQ3 car comps that the boys want drive time not wheeling tyres through the bush and making stretchers  im all for safety but cars are built to handle a single roll and we wear helmets and window nets, we can learn if people have solutions to add to the ideas please tell and well listen to feed back :smilecolros:

the local drives are much harder than any of these tracks you don't have to look far from the creek you were in in both directions to see the harder more dangerous stuff, don't forget CQ 3 car is still uncaged the new guys just have to be real real quick to get in look at troy crimmons and his lux he still seems to be ok :? car just a little love rubbed

Maybe we need two comps a year one easy easy 3 car event, and one extreme two car 4 day event?? Just thought I'd throw that out there as I'd love to do an extreme two car

its hard to have easy easy and 4x4 comp in the same sentence i just don't under stand how to do this. we need to attract teams ?? sponsers?? and spectaters who wants to watch easy easy, sothat would mean teams would have to foot the bill forall expences hows $1000 a team who's in  but when it comes to the extreme 2 car good idea only one problem i want to race this any one else willing to run this one :morning: as far as running comps ,ive only got 1 and a half comps a year in me
