Re: changing oils
whatever is cheapest at the time.
my theory, even the worst oil today is on par with the best oil back when these things were built.
and if oils cost you SFA, your more likely to change them OFTEN. and if you 4wd, fresh, water free oil in the diffs/gearbox is much more important than brand.

Re: changing oils
Oils aint Oils. lol. Castrol is a good brand. I used Nulon diff oil a little while back and have been up north and back twice towing and all is great.

Re: changing oils
I buy both engine and gear oil from quality performance lubes. I buy in 20 litre drums. The hydraulic workshop I used to work for used them. I like their oil. And it comes in cheaper than the big brands. And is good. I use their 15w40 for engine and 90w gear oil for the rest. Had no issues in over 12 months and 50 litres of engine oil (as a result of the oil relief valve issue the 2h has which has been fixed) and about the same in gear oil. from making sure therr has been no water in the boxes and rebilding the diff and swivel hubs.
Buy a drum pump. Though. they make the job so easy!j
