basically you need to run some new wires from the tacho sensor up to meet the back of the dash, tap into the wire that used to run from the computer to the dash for the tacho, and then use the dash other tacho pin to connect to the second tacho sensor wire.

Re: GU 3L to 4.2 taco wire
Thanks i checked the wiring diagram again and hooked it up as you did and found it only works above idle.My gu is a 03 model and the wiring to the dash has diffrent pin locaction so i had to use pin 60 and 61.I also found if you earth the other wire from the senser instead of hooking into dash it also works but still only above idle.Hase any one els overcome this thanks.
Re: GU 3L to 4.2 taco wire
The reason for that is, if its an early engine with a 2 wire tacho sendor the signal is very poor at idle. You need to use a 3 wire powered tacho sender from the Ti, but unfortunately the gear it uses is different than the early one.YARNY wrote:Thanks i checked the wiring diagram again and hooked it up as you did and found it only works above idle.My gu is a 03 model and the wiring to the dash has diffrent pin locaction so i had to use pin 60 and 61.I also found if you earth the other wire from the senser instead of hooking into dash it also works but still only above idle.Hase any one els overcome this thanks.
