I've done a very stupid thing... i bought a set of 33in tires and 15x10 wheels to put on my sammy once i get it running again and the lift finished (4in spoa and 2in shackles). But i just thought about the possibility of the tires rubbing too much... someone please tell me it will work without... umm... special wheels? spacers? Who else put 33's on their sammurai out there... what did you do to make 'em fit?
thanks

wheel spacers
wheel spacers
I love Sarah :)
Depends on how wide the tires are. 15x10's are pretty much illegal last time i heard on a sierra. Most everyone will run 15x8's maximum. If your tires are too fat, then wheel spacers won't even help you I don't believe.
If the tires are 10.5's or 11.5's then they'll probably fit on 15x8's, so you'll have to find a set of those...
Mine has 34" JT2's on 8" wide wheels. Rubbing isn't a problem.

My tires were rubbing in the front, so I trimmed the hood, and now they're fine...
illegal?
I have never heard of 15x10 being illegal. They're widely sold on ebay, and i never heard any one mention them being illegal. Maybe different states have different laws about that... Anyway, my tires are 33x12.5, so if yours are 34 i doubt mine are going to rub... i guess we'll see then

You're only allowed a 25% increase (i think) in width over stock wheel width.
FYI, when i had my vitara a few years back, the engineer, while he was doing the report, that with having 15x7's on there i was ok, but that 15x8's would not pass on a vitara!!!
Since then i've heard that they'll pass 15x8's....
Yeah, you can own 15x10's and use them offroad, but i don't know if you can have them passed for the road...

what is the offset on the rim .. (how much of the rim is outside the centreline of the rim)
I have run 32x11.5s on 15x8's with a 5 inch offset (5 inches of rim outside the centreline) with no rubbing ..
33 swampers on the same rims rubbed the springs
I now run 35x12.5 claws on the same rims .. and they rub all over the place ...
