need a recommendation of a good auto sparky in melbourne - west side

rover or 4x4 experience would be handy

need to fix a few things:
- lhs rear indicator stopped working
- cruise control not working
- arb rear locker not working, but compressor still working
- tacho needle bounces around and sometimes does not work

 stupid rover

What sort of rover?

Is it a disco (or possibly even range rover) and the indicator the one in the rear bumber?? If so they sit in a crappy little plastic holder and the metal terminals in it tend to break over time and the bulb no longer makes contact with the terminals. I've replaced both genuine ones and 1 aftermarket on on mine. I solved the problem buy buying 5 after market holders at a time and nothings gone wrong with them since

Cruise control is most likely a perished vacuum hose or bung pump. Mine was a perished vacuum hose that came off the actuator and the quick fix was trim an inch off the hose and plug it back on. That soon went and the long term fix was to replace with some generic vacuum hose from auto one which cost me all of $7.

ARB's, dont have them but its not a rover problem. I've never had a problem with the tacho either but it sounds like a loose connection somewhere.

Best bet IMO is take it to a rover specialist and get them to fix the issues in the next service as most of those problems don't really require an auto sparky.

thanks for the tip on the light bulb holders. the prongs were bent and not making contact with the bulb. i fixed that and after one trip the old bulb blew. haha. popped a new one in and it's been good ever since. now i can merge lanes safely without annoying other people.
