this thread is epic and puts big smiles on my face..... not sure where the original topic is....
Re: Trail gear suspension
i had ifs rear and shackles
now i have TG front and rear.
TG leafs shit all over ifs rears.
IMO trail gear are designed and tested and are proven.
I dont drive mine on road much but when i do its quite stable even with 38s.
id go the TG any day over the ruf and ifs rears.

Re: Trail gear suspension
ull give a shit when u get hung up on ur 6" of clearence then again if u stick to the shopping centers and fire trails u should be right ,and wasnt going to run red or blue shackles was thinking of running silver shackles apparently they make ur hilux mighty .... oh wait probly wont as im running links not leavesZuri92 wrote:well i am sooo awesome i dont even know my belly height nor do i give a $hit, wtf does it matter if it is 20 inches or the average 6??????? but may i ask, is the 20 inch belly clearance usng red or blue shackles?

Re: Trail gear suspension
Pfft yous are all Dudelux, stock box hanger, teh massivest shackles, bit of surface rust, some welded duffs, and some 38s for onroad driving and we'll be rolling all night with a full tank of unleaded.
And instead of doin hi steer just invert ur drivers shock so the J arm dont hit it, makes sense huh? thats how mine is done and is very capable of running 12's
Standard suspension would ride good with 38's at 25psi. Similar to big airbags i rekon , cause id be able to tell if any suspension setup worked well with 10inchs of sidewall to absorb the roads bumps and lumps, and no body roll would be from the sidewall.

Re: Trail gear suspension
well if we are talking about my falcon then 6 inches becomes more like 2 and yeah shopping centres can be problematic but thats fine. and silver shackles dont make a car mighty just confuzzles people when they dont understand that shackles are able to be more than black red or blue. but whats even more of an issue is wether or not i can put a 2 inch body lift in my hilux without asking everyone on here how to do it, because i might need tailshaft spacers and extended brake lines....... but not if i run welded cv's

ok i see that u can run falcon leafs, what can u get them out off
anyone cheers
anyone cheers
Re: Trail gear suspension
falcon are really long in the back half and short in the front, require more work than ifs leaves to fit and wont be any better, the only real way to get more than ifs leaves offer is to get leaves that are also longer in the front, like my rear leaves for example, but you can only use them with silver shackles or you wont get enough rti from your rls.

Re: Trail gear suspension
i've fitted the the 3.5" ifs eliminator kit to my 2002 hilux its cost me $6000 with a rear track bar ,4:88 tg gearing and a front locker inc labour
i dont think its that expensive when you see the amount of parts and the quality you get ! mine actually sits 8" taller until it sags .. these kits have massive travel around 22" + upward and 19 + downward
tg kit incuded
1x high steer conversion kit
2x hub spaces to widen the solid axel track to ifs width
4x1.5" wheel spaces (im not using)
4xtg 2.5" high flex springs
4x 2" greasable shackels
4xbilstein shocks
1x bilstein dampener
4x shackle flip kit and slide plates
2x new drilled/vented discs
1x rear cross member
1x front dropped cross member
2x shock hoops
all diff gusseting/pumpkin protection and brackets to fit
all bearings and seals to rebuild the f/r housings
check my build
