5 inch lift on a 80 series

Post by mick80 »

Hey lads going to put a five inch lift in my 80 just wondering if I could put 800 mm shocks with it.
Obviously I'll have to space bump stops.
Just wondering is there any other problems I have towatch out 4
Cheers in advance 4 the answers

Hey mate, I run 820 mm shocks in rear of my 100 with only 5" lift with no issues. I did have same shock up front but removed them cause were bottoming out. SO ended up putting 700mm in front.

Unless you have or are planning on changing your front end to get more flex, then the front shocks been that long will limit your up travel and they won't drop the full length of the shock to achieve any more travel. Sitting stationary my shocks had about 70mm up travel when ran the 820. With the 700mm they stIll don't fully drop (my front end is standard with castor plates).
Just my opinion but trial and error is always the go!

I ran 820 s in the front of mine mick and also had pin to eye adaotors which made the shock about 40mm longer. I was running 7". If u run 820s on 5 " and no adaptors u should be fine
