If room allows, get original mounts for the motor and make adapters to the chassis.. or vice versa.. depends on room and which is the most difficult to make.. i have seen suspension (leaf spring) bushes used (not on a lux tho). It worked, but I don't know how it went in the long run....

Holden V8 to Hilux, made from 50 x 50 x 5 SHS with 4mm bracing plates added. Using original Hilux rubbers.

made mine from 40mm internal pipe and 75 series shackle rubbers. There is crush tube in the middle with a 5/8 bolt from memory.
The plates to chassis is 6mm, and rhs to 6mm plate on the block.
oh 355 to 80 series l/cruiser.

Sorry for the hijack here, but in the last pic^^^^^, are those pulleys on the engine the vee pulleys from a 308??

Im asking because Im doing 304 to Lux and there is gilmer pulleys on mine at the moment, and have been told to use 308 pulleys and belts.

sorry they are 304. all pulleys and brackets are custom made to suit what i am running. that was how i assembled it on the stand, but has changed heaps since installed. I am still working on the brackets so i can't supply finished photos.

Dudelux, 308 uses basically the same pulleys ie single v groove pulley

Vibes arnt all that bad. bit hard to tell in a crawler thoe. I run fairly still bushes rubber ones would lose some vibes
