hey guys im wondering if anyone knows if a defender rear diff assembly disc brake type will fit straight into my rangie, im pretty sure it will i would just have to shorten the rear tailshaft

what defender rear diff? there are 3 basic diffferent types. Sals, P38 and rover type...what Def and what year?

Diff is, axle shafts not so much......but that is an easy fix. propshaft angle chnages but may not be a problem. Kelvin will probably chime in

and they are stronger than rover type .
Best thing is they are very similar to a Dana 60 so you can change the internals relatively easy.

does anyone know if i put a defender rear diff DRUM BRAKE TYPE in my rangie ( 88 model ), if i could get the brakes to work?

I personally think youd be much better off converting said Sals to disc

yeah thanks that may be wat ill have to do...its alot cheaper for me to buy a drum brake type than a disc
