those diffs look like 40 series. going by the pinion flange..

Well thats crap isnt it. Goes to show not to just trust a 4x4 wrecker. They are too old now to bother doing anything about it. I didnt even measure them until yesterday. And the penny still didnt drop then either. I just assumed they where what I asked for.

x2 on the flange looking same as 4x series

The wreckers were proberly stuck in the false mind frame that all 75 series cuiser run big low pinion diffs front and back ,
4x series diffs fit in front and back of 85-89 75 series as I've done this before.
The 80 series front and 105 series front are same size diff but different ratio and Axel spline count

they are different ratios yes, but axles are the same, the centres are interchangeable between 80s and 105s
