1995 80 series-what to look for when buying?

Post by KIWI »

Looking at a 1995 80 series with 1HDFT running an auto. Are there any problem areas to look out for both body/mechanical?
Any problems with the motors to be aware of? This one has 260km on it, but no service history.

I've done a quick search but never seem to get many relevant posts come up

Cheers,
Dave

rust up under the front where the little rubber grommets are.
and check along the roof gutters.

theres very good tech on this on lcool.org
describes in detail where the 2 rubber grommets are each side to check for rust.

Thanks. Taking it for a test drive tomorrow. I'm told these drop valves, any idea if this is common and the only known engine problem?

Cheers
