Does anyone know where a good place is in newcastle nsw to get a sheetmetal dash for a hilux made up?
Something like you see in a few comp trucks getting around.

Im looking at replacing all the factory gauges with aftermarket ones and thought a sheetmetal dash would be cool lol.

Also after any pics aswell.

havent got access to a panbrake.
Or the time.
rather just pay for one,i cant see it being over $500

Surely there couldnt be that much to it.
Get a sheet, mark it for cutting, then cut with a grinder, drill some holes, and bolt it in.
Then fill it with switches and guages.

i want to remove the old dash completelyandstart from scratch.
not just a sheet insert

more than $500 for someone to measure and make a few folds?

i can make all the mounting brackets and stuff i just want the main dash panel bent up and the cluster visor made.
I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a place that has done it before and knows where and what to measure to make a nice fit

Your best bet might be to design it yourself, possibly even build it in cardboard, and then get it made by pretty much any decent sheetmetal shop.

Yeah definately cardboard, use the pillars to keep it square and keep cutting til you get a neat fit anduse it as your template. You'd probably want a double fold along the top face for strength, say bout an inch fold for the bit you'll look at and half inch in. You could use that fold to screw in your guage panel which could be as simple as a rectangular tray. Well thats a start, i'd be using 1.6-2.0mm ally and sandblasting it gives it a great matte finish.
