3F Carby Choices

Post by gixxerpilot »

Gday all,

Coming very close to putting my rebuilt 3F back into my middy, and want to look at a few options for carbys. The car is a manual, on duel fuel and will be used as a bit of a daily and a weekend toy, will be running 33's once it gets registered.

I want to hear from people with similar set ups who have had experiences (bad or good) with various carbs and whats best for using petrol off road (ie no stalling on hills etc), whats good for a bit of a power increase, and what will handle the LPG ok. Or maybe the standard Toyota carb is fine, with just slightly bigger jets?

Cheers!

I only ever used the stock carb, was ok until I did the real steep stuff. When on the big hills etc I stuck with running on LPG.

Same as Hustly....3F in my 40 runs the stock cab. Keeps running great on steep climbs and angles if you have a little bit of throttle open. Once it needs to idle on those angles it will stall but.
