Custom 75 series airbox. driver side

Post by BFCK97 »

Just wondering if anybody has any pictures of custom airbox's they have made for the drivers side of a 75 series bay, or if anyone could make me a decent one.
I'm lookin for somethin 4" in and 4" out that will hold a very well flowing filter.
Am running an ls1 engine so will need plenty of air

I made this one for my 304 in a 4 Runner, 4" inlet and standard 304 outlet.
Runs either a standard Holden 304 panel filter or can also fit an oiled pod filter. I prefer the standard panel though.

I could easily make you a custom box to suit your needs, but would need to get the car for a day to plan and rough in the design.

that doesnt look to bad mate, got any pics of the inside how the filter sits etc?
1 i found on ebay the guy says seals up fine and has a decent sized pod in it, would just need to weld a few brackets onto it to fit it up.

Imho stay away from those enclosed pod style filters. They tend to get very dirty on one side while the rest does nothing.

I built an airbox in the front drivers side of my 75, you may have seen it.

If not check out my build thread.

yours looks alright cranky, not sure how a 75 one would go with 4 inch in and out, and i don't have 1 to start with because my cabin didnt come with 1 when i bought it.
yours looks good zoltan, spose i should decide what filter i want to run 1st.
i've got a mate at the sheetmetal place i used to work at that i can get to fold up whatever i want.

here is zoltans for anyone else looking

The fzj 79s come with bigger intake than the diseasel one , my factory 79s airbox intake is about 4" inake and the lid intake/to motor is about 3-1/2" ish fair bit bigger than diesel lid as well , not sure on the fzj75 air box intake itself but I know there lid has a airflow sensor or something mixed with the lid so might not be a free flow as fzj79 ,
good luck trying to find one though dude

after having a quick look around i like the look of the fzj79 airbox.
anybody know anyone that would have 1 of them around?
i could easily change the top outlet to 4 inch and to point forwards more to suit ls1 intake.
heres a proper pic for any1 else looking.
