chassis swap
chassis swap
is it possible to bolt a swb gq chassis under a swb mk. if so how much work is involved????? and will a sd33t motor bolt up to a gq gear box
there is no such thing as a stupid idea... just a person who owns a rover!!!
Re: chassis swap
i dont know about the chassis swap however the SD33Tengine will not bolt up to the TD/TB geaboxes you would have to get a bellhgousing converter made up for it.
AA's for Quitters
Re: chassis swap
i discussed this with an engineer years ago cause i wanted to do a coil conversion and thought it was the easy way.
problem one is the wheel base lengths are different. engine mounts are different.
now in sydney to do a full chassis swap i was told that i had to update the cab to meet the ADR's of the chassis, so the seatbelts may need to be changed, lighting, instrument cluster and a whole range of other bits,
it turned out to be cheaper to buy a petrol gq SWB, which we turned into a comp truck, was the plan all along,

Re: chassis swap
bugger... might just try to put the fibre glass roof on the gq then... lots of work but should (hopefully) be possibly

Re: chassis swap
Why would you want a crap fibreglass roof on a GQ anyway?rustysrangierecks wrote:bugger... might just try to put the fibre glass roof on the gq then... lots of work but should (hopefully) be possibly
