Hilux suspension

Post by shooter »

Hey have been searching and am looking for pictures of a YN65 hilux with 5" lift and 31" tyres, I've got 34" mudstars?! (guessing cheapo chinese) and a 5 inch lift but the tyres are a bit excessive for daily driving and got defected to :/ And what are the chances of getting a 5" lift modplated, it looks like 2 inch body 3 inch suspension and pretty well done and does ride well. So anyone got photos of this odd combo ???

I dont like your chances of getting 5inch lift plated, especially in the nazi state of QLD.
But talk to engineers for accurate details on what you can do.

Do you have extended shackles??

yer greasable extended shackles, got pulled over by a cop for not wearing my seat belt but he didn't get me for that so he decided to defect me, but i didn't sign the notice so he cracked the shits and left, its been about 2 months and i haven't received anything in the mail but waiting for the day when i get pulled over again and get the same ordeal. Would i have to remove the greasable shackles to get it mod plated or whats the wisest way to go about it , i don't mind the risk of driving with them but if there is a way around it thats not going to make me have to redo all my suspension then i'd be up for it!

Maybe take the bodylift out, that way it will look a lot lower and attract less attention.
Leave the suspension if it rides good.
Why did he want you to sign the notice?
Was it to say you know the vehicle is defective?

I don't know what qld is like but to engineer my lux was a mission!
As soon as I said 4inch suspension and 65mm bodylift they laughed at me and said no way am I touching that.
I got a guy to engineer it under the grounds that my headlights are below 120cm from the ground.
He engineered everything in the car and even 35s for on road.

They try to get you to sign the notice to say you agree to what he's written as defective. I pleaded ignorant and said I wouldn't sign it until I knew what was legal and what's not. How would you go about removing the body lift? And it came with roh rims but not the security socket any ideas of how to get them off? All the rim suppliers I've spoken to say you need a special code to get one made up.

got the mechanics to get it off with that internal reverse thread socket, the kits cost about $200 to obtain so if its a once off id recommend getting a tyre shop to do it.
