80/105 Series Ultra Flexy Coils Available

Post by Suspension Stuff »

I am stocking flexy coils again for the Cruiser except they are a new improved product. They will come with 3 inches more flex then a regular coil give a nicer ride, made out of a higher tensile material and powder coated black to be inconspicuous.

The spring rate is variable meaning at ride height with an unloaded vehicle the spring rate on the front is 270lbs, if you have a winch it will be 290lbs. When fully flexed you will still have 160lbs of spring pressure on the ground.

For the rear at unladen ride height 220lbs. If you have accessories and/or load you have 250lbs and when you flex it up, for more stability it increases to 300lbs.

If purchased separately you are looking at $600 for set of 4. The reason why they are more expensive is because the extra flex is achieved by tapering the wire down at the top turns of the coil.

They come with a 2 year warranty. For now we have (as of mid april 2011 3", 3.5", 4" and 4.5" but in the next month or 2 we will have 2", 2.5" and 5".

This thread isn't about selling. It is about information. I won't be putting them in the for sale section if this thread gets removed. Actually, I don't even have the information on my web site yet.

Shane,

what length shocks would you suggest running in a 105series with these coils in 3" lift

How do they effect on road manners with the softer initial spring rate?

Up to 725mm which we will have available in the kits which is a 6" shock.

Feedback compared to regular Lovells 2" coils with 1" coil spacers without changing shocks. He was running 4" shocks with both kits.
Much nicer ride, night and day difference.
Less body roll.
More capable (purchase) off road even though the same length shocks were used for the experiment.
Held a load quite well.

These were tested by a customer and is not my feedback. He could be a little excited because of the new coils but he was middle aged so I doubt it. (I hope he doesn't read the comment about middle aged.)

I haven't tested them on a 105 Series yet and they are a little bit fatter. On the bright side, the springs get heavier duty as you put more load on them.
