colin gave a presentation at our club, was very good, knows his shit from that side.

Dude on patrol list had one, it shat day 1, but was replaced with a complete new unit no questions, or "we will repair it"... drive in, wait 10 mins drive out.

Ended up a faulty part from factory..

He had a high mount advertised in a magazine while back, NFI what happened with that.. could be worth asking.

Opening the page with

"Brawn 4x4 winches, world's best winches."

Not worth reading on.. they are good, but I'll still say Warn are the best...

is 4x4tv paying you to post links to all their shit? :finger:  [/u][/i]

i believe they are the same winch as a T-MAX, we had the brawn winch bloke in at work last week and he only had good things to say about them, DUH!! he did mention the T-MAX winches can be upgraded with Brawn internals but couldnt tell me the differance.

TMAX is also water sealed and 5.5hp. We retail the T-MAX at $1299, how does this compare to a Brawn?

I think what happens is that they arrive in the country from Taiwan and Brawn 4x4 modifies them with uprated motors and waterproofing and maybe some other bits and pieces.
Oh and Simon gave me the speel about em when his mates Warn overheated while rescueing me in the Paj Challenge

So if they are better than Warn then why arnt all the winch challenge guys using them. The only ones i know of that are have fitted Warn internals to them. Personaly i havent heard a good thing about either Brawn,Premier or T-Max winches. And i imagine the only thing that Brawn realy own is the selling rights in Australia.

Then buy the Brawn but dont cry when it turns out to be a POS and no-one wants to buy it.

Warn are the best electric automotive winch in the World for a good reason. They are reliable and have proven them selves over many times.
The highmount on the front of POS's hilux is over 15 years old and has never been serviced and still works fine. I wouldnt buy anything but WARN.

i'm sorry, but have to agree with ruff. warn are reconised as the best for a reason.

besides, how can something be marketed/sold as aussie made, when the bloody thing is made in asia, then have couple of seals etc added to make waterproof (if this is not bullshit). all the bits they add probably made oseas anyway

Interesting how they dont have a 8000lb listed as suitable for parols/landcruisers. As 95% (yes this is a made up stat) are running 8000lp winches (weither it is high or low mount it is still only 8000lb).
And warn highmount is the most used as winch line speed is a very critical factor and so far nothing compares with its line speed and cable/rope capacity.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

if they are water proof, that would mean they are air tight also. how are they cooled as they have no fins on them?

Spend the same money on a Second Hand Warn even if it is older and has been used more. Parts are everywhere. I know someone that used a T-Max at the Last OBC and the motor packed it in the first day and no one local had a single part for it however there were motors for Warn winches everywhere.

I know when i get stuck on my own i dont want to have to dig or walk for hours because the CHEAP winch i bought gave up 2 min into my self recovery or worse didnt even work.
