What a weekend.

I'm stuffed. Next year I'm sleeping in the Prices sound proof Winnebago (minus Twon and his curry bog).

Will post a more in depth run-down tomorrow. Nigh nigh.

Awesome weekend Pete and your helpers have done an awesome job improving the event!!!
You did dam well running 60 trucks thru those events!!!

BUT bring back the locals to do the food during the day!!! The food lines were always huge and dam slow!!!! And I am amazed someone didnt end up with food poisoning!!!

Awesome weekend & great to see the guys & help out when I could in the comp area.
Rhett was having a unlucky year but still didn't slow him down. Dan drove unbelievably considering the damage & pain he was in with his knee.
Dave & Hayden were just superb & made things work all weekend, well done boys !!!

Another great weekend, They have got to keep the action going at night so that the morons on the hill have something to focus on , rather then trying to beat on each other and throwing crap around.
The food and drink situation was the only let down , queues where too long and the food was shit and expensive.bring back the locals at least the money goes to good course, should have more smaller stalls just selling drinks especially when it,s hot, The food and stuff at the mud run was a great idea ,it just needs to be edibal.

They need drink stands up at the top and or between the tracks. The food tasted like left overs from last years eastershow. I think they need to realise this is a BIG weekend now and more of everything needs to be put in place. I am sure there are a few hundred Mr Whippys that would put there hand up to come in for the weekend. Get the local pub to do a BBQ zangers and min steak. Even the local boyscouts.

The showers over nere hoon hill were a joke... In my group of 9 people we all attempted to take a shower a few times and only one of us got one. They were either not working or they had dark brown water coming out.

Looking past all that it was a great weekend. It was very interesting to see the different driving styles and how good/bad some of the navis worked for there drivers. I do think they need to make a run the more favors the BIG (chopper, fridge, joshy....) trucks to give them a chance to make some ground up on the smaller lighter rigs.

Over all a BIG THANK YOU to all the teams you guys with your efforts drown out all the others stuff made this weekend great.....

Hate to say it but I agree, just too risky with questionable judgement & approach. Gets the drunks cheering but if the event wants to keep expanding risk management needs to be looked at. Just look at other competitors & how they are just as entertaining.

I didn't say best I said crazy. I do agree his driving style was far from safe. But he didnt have half the brake downs most the rigs there did. He built it to drive that way.

I also think there were a few places arouns most of the tracks that should have been fenced off a little further back. There was a few places that the rigs get up on 2 wheels leaning downhill with spectators close enough to touch the role bars.

I think maybe people who are not smart enought to think, 'gee maybe i shouldn't stand there just in case' should probably stick to the 4x4 expo inside an exhebition centre or a show and shine event in shopping centre car parks.

Its TUFF TRUCK not a doll show, if you are concerned, move away, dont stand there, the thing that makes tuff truck what it is is the fact that spectators, (enthusiests), are able to watch the driving skills, truck capabilities and driver/navi dedication to complete the tracks for most points at the 'tuffest' 4wd event in OZ whilst being up nice and close to the action and not fenced off 25 mtrs back looking thru binoculars.

Some trucks are far more capable than others, and clerarly far more expensive, if you want people to STOP giving it a go, and doing everything they possibly can to make sure they get to the END of the track, maybe the points should just be awarded to the most expensive truck. Driver / Navi skill, dedication, and overall experience should be completely overlooked, that way it could all be done over the internet, and would save alot of people hours and hours of driving to come and see OZ's tuffest trucks not being ALLOWED to do what there built for.

Sunday morning they had run out of bacon and egg rolls, nothing but the same fried food from the nights before, no bbq lunch either. But another option is about 5 mins up the road, there is a good little cafe/servo well worth a visit if you didn't bring food like me and don't want to eat crap all weekend. It was nice to see fruit and veges being sold on site as well.

I was so stoked with how different this event was to the old TT we knew (except for the can throwing bogans on the mudrun and occasional explosion from the feral camp) Will possibly be bringing the whole family next year. Recoveries were fast, plenty of cars driving at once and spectator visibilty was great. Activities for the kids were awesome too. No stupid music/ comments on the mic. Security was very friendly and on the job. Very good! Lots of positives.

I think people like you should be banned and restricted to show and shine events in shopping centre car parks. its TUFF TRUCK not a doll show, if you are scared, move away, the point of this event it to prove who has the tuffest most capable, and crowd pleasing truck, stop being a bunch of pansys, if your not tuff enuff, dont come, buy the dvd instead, if tuff truck banned powerful 4x4 for actually giving it a go, they would only last a few more years, and the 'real' enthusiests will not bother because they can get more entertainment and geed up by taking themselves for a 4b. bring back the tuff truck form 5 yrs ago! not the politically correct one!

xy ute - I agree with you wholly and solely, but unfortunately in this day and age you just can't do that. It sucks. The second somebody dies here, there will be all manner of litigation, and then there will be NO TT WHATSOEVER. I'd rather Politically correct, pussy, rooster smoking tuff truck to the alternate.

I wasn't there, i didn't see what happened, I don't really know what I'm talking about - but I'd rather see somebodies project that they have thrown thousands upon thousands of dollars into succeed, rather than roll, flip and become a waste of coin when the builder had to replace everything. I have nothing against watching a truck go backwards and upside down a hill, but I don't think that's the point of TT. If I wanted to see cars destroyed, I'd go to the demolition derby. Maybe you should consider going to those instead.

It's not about being politically correct, not about being scared. Their driving style is unnecessarily dangerous, they rarely have control of the vehicle, a few times they nearly ended up in the crowd.

You're a real enthusiast ? Consider if someone was killed by a high risk competitor like Powerful4x4 what that will mean for the future of Tuff Truck, you WILL be going elsewhere.

I have edited my initial comment, after reading it looked like I was having a dig at peter for wrecking the event. This is not the case at all, I think it was excellent, but I must ask myself, what is the difference from past tuff truck events from the beginning to now, a period of 8 or 9 years, are you suggesting that people’s lives have only recently become important? Or are you suggesting that people have become stupid and are unable to judge if they should move or not be standing there for that part of the track as the truck passes?

You are absolutely right, a tame lame tt is better than no tt at all, BUT tt will lose the real enthusiasts, who come to watch people do amazing things with tuff trucks, push the limits to the extreme, put themselves and their trucks in a sticky situation, and make an attempt to drive them out of it.

As for getting excited about people destroying their truck, that is extremely offensive, I quiver at the thought of this happening to something that someone has invested so much time and money into building one, only to possibly wreck it. And think it is rude how everyone cheers when someone rolls over, but stand there quietly while the driver and navi skills are being put to use. Are you forgetting that at any stage the driver and navi can access the situation and call it for a recovery? Are you also aware of the saying ' you'll never know unless you give it a go’? These trucks are built for this event. If you are too blind to see that you should stick to DVD’s and mags.
