Drive shaft vibes
I can't seem to work out why my driveline is vibrating so much.
I know it all looks a bit old but not too bad surely,
This happened at 3000 rpm in 4th so about 115 kmh up a hill on the warby hiway,

Re: Drive shaft vibes
I get my drive shafts made by a local bloke and don't actually ask him what he uses. He is well known and respected for 4WD driveshafts in Melb though.
I will ask about it when I take it to him tomorrow, it's that stuffed that it may need a whole new joint, not just a uni.

Re: Drive shaft vibes
Yeh running in new motor and especisally rings means a little bit of revs occasionally. Not my usual scene but if you don't bed moly rings in they will fail.
Maybe I miscalculated and those revs only = 90 kmh in 4th

Re: Drive shaft vibes
I had the same thing happen going up a fairly slippery hill one night, only the tailshaft did drop out. Thankfully I was only doing a few km/h and I just needed to replace the slip yoke...

Re: Drive shaft vibes
My old 3L 4runner would barely do 90km/hr downhill.
