To pay a shop to do it would be very pricey!! Its not had but for a shop charging by the hour it wouldn't be cheap. Guessing a couple of grand all up.

I did a mates car last year. If I did it again I reckon on the cab swap only(not build tray etc) with 1 mate who was pretty switched on we could do it in 2days flat out.

I would strip the ute cab bare then lift the wagon body off and drop the ute cab on then swap all the stuff back in. Just remember that diesel and petrols have different wiring harness.

hello mate, i think paul at kustom kages is starting to do a few chops again. he is on the sunny coast if you are thinking of just a cut and weld a rear wall in wherever you want it. by the time you cut/paint it i wouldnt imagine it would cost less than 4k without havn to do all the work yourself. he is on here occassionally so pm him if you are keen.

Ute cabs are easy to find. Just check the classifieds and fleebay. Also check the auctions like fowles and Pickles. Especially in the damaged vehicle auctions. Hope this helps.

When i did my cut gq it cost over $2000 to paint. I put a cage inside at the same time all the parts without any welding costs or labour costs (Wagon front, new guards, wire and gas) cost $1500. If you can pay someone to spend all that time doing it for $4k do it.

If i did it again i wouldn't be pulling out dash boards, wiring or anything like that. I did a complete strip down of everything so i knew everything was good to race and it took a very long time to re-assemble...
