Swapping Warn M8000 for Tigerz 12000

Hi All, I've got an 8000 pound Warn winch that I bought new a couple of years ago. I have been looking into changing the wire to rope but have noticed I could probably just sell the Warn and "upgrade" to a Tigerz 12000 pound winch with rope for probably litle or no cost. My thinking is: I'll get the rope, the Tigerz winch is more advanced in terms of it's braking system, better sealed and has higher pulling capacity.

My question is what are peoples thoughts on this swap? Warn has the better reputation but Tigerz seems to have plenty of positive reviews too...

The days of Warn being the ducks nutz are long gone....

Tigerz are a very good unit and have great reviews, not to mention designed and tested for Aust. conditions

Make sure you measure the tigerz though, as there is a slight length issue on some models

keep your m8000 and just buy some rope for it .

m8000 might be a little slow but it is still a better winch than the tigerz11 or other chinese junkers .

My thought on the swap is "dont do it!".
Hang on to the warn and get some rope from the USA

Just pulled apart my old warn 9000 and while it looks all good inside motor and gearbox the switch gear is corroded and seems to be the thing stopping it from working. I saw in an old post that Tigers11 sell these solenoids that i might be needing but just wanna make sure that will do the job. Any decent solenoid will work by rights wouldn't it? First time pulling a winch apart.

Tigerz solenoid will work, and you only need one.

A lot better than the multiple warn ones.

get an albright or use cole hersee solenoids

I swapped from a warn 9000lbs to a tigerz11 10000lbs high speed, the tigerz11 really makes the warn look like a dinosaur. I had a couple of teething issues with the initial solenoids I was supplied by tigerz11, bad batch apparently and easily fixed up. It has a much better brake than the warn, much faster, especially at no load and it spools out very easily.

I've got a 12,000 lb tigerz and its done the job well. Given it came with the normal remote, a wireless remote, synthetic rope and a suitable al fairlead - its been a good investment.

You pay for what you get.
I kinda regret selling of both our Warn M8000 which were bought new.
Bought some Ding Dong China made 12000lb winch that is the same thing on Zoltan's truck.

So far it works but somehow i'm still not convinced it's better than our old Warn.
Maybe it needs to go through a few more harder pull to win my heart.

So far our 12000lb have suffered water ingression in the motor and needed a service.
The wireless thingy gives problems.

While the Warn works from the word go. Mind you our Warn been on the truck since the Mid 80s.
However you gotta give credit where it's due for the cost savings for the China winch.
