G16b running rough

Post by vitara-95 »

I have a 95 Vitara with the G16B engine that has done 190 000km. It has recently started running rough at idle, when warm or at low revs. It also misses if I linger in a too higher gear. I recently did a country run and there were no issues when cruising at 110km. I have changed the plugs, leads and fuel filter. The PCV rattles and the EGR valve appears to function when it's cold. I've checked the O2 sensor with a mulitmeter and it appers to be in range with what the different Web sites suggest. Can anybody assist with a solution so I don't pay a mechanic to go fishing?

I haven't replaced the sensor yet that was next, I am losing a little bit of coolant (dribble) from the 2nd bottom hose which is getting replaced as well. The plugs were not the ones listed, the gaps were too big and one or two of them had ash.

Thanks

I haven't cleaned the air flow sensor as I would have hoped the air filter would keep it clean, but I’ll give it a go and let you know. Out of interest why did you ask if I was lossing coolant?

Thanks
