gq injector pump or gu
gq injector pump or gu
hi people, just want to know is it better to bolt on a gu injector pump or get the standard gq pump built to suit the turbo. i'm running a garrett gt28r75 with front mount intercooler. thank you
Re: gq injector pump or gu
gu td42t injector pump would be cheapest best pump, runs a bigger plunger than a gq pump plus has a boost compensator so it wont be as smokey and more fuel economic, u can pick them up cheap if u shop around and can be cheaper than rebuilding a gq pump

so would the gu pump be better for power as well
Re: gq injector pump or gu
GU pump comes from the factory with a bigger plunger and a boost compensator so it can be tweaked to deliver more fuel without mods than a GQ pump.pottsy781 wrote:so would the gu pump be better for power as well
That being said I recently had a GQ pump modified with an 11mm plunger (same as GU) and mods to cam plate and governer springs etc that will deliver more than enough fuel for the turbo I'm running. With the right turbo it should make 150-170 hp reliably without internal engine work.
I was quoted $660 for a second hand GU pump without any guarantee...... The pump mods cost more but I know that the pump is basically new and will be good for years to come.
