How to disassemble Tigerz11 winch motor

Post by hulsty »

Does anyone have some tips on how to disassemble Tigerz11 winch motor and brake from the end plate? Is the motor a interference fit with the end plate? They are kind of setup like the one in this ad.

I want to pull it all apart so I can drill and tap the housings for air fittings to feed them low pressure compressed air.

I had been thinking about doing the same thing with mine,

What are you using to regulate the low pressure air.

I was thinking about only putting about 10kPa, that will keep the water out down to about 1m under water.

Just going to use a regulator down to 5psi to pump into the casing.

Hey Hulsty,

Mate I think what you need to do is undo the tie rods and remove both the drum support plate and motor in one piece from the winch. On the inside of the drum support plate are some allen head bolts which will allow you to remove the drum support from the motor. This is the process for the gearbox side so I don't think it's going to be much different for the motor side.

Give me a call if you need a hand.

cheers
