Project Scrapper

Post by Troll00 »

Well it's been a while since I had a play toy so I was given this to bring back to life, it's a late 70s 2 door now with a 3.5 on gas, zf 4speed auto and have done the Rover Tracks conversions to the diffs and ARB lockers.

I have got most of it for free from everyones scraps or left overs, started this project about 12 months ago and has taken me all this time to collect enough parts to make it ready for the road and to play in.

Rover tracks diffs now in and ARB's Lockers connected, lots of rewiring done over the weekend, didn't realise rover wiring was so bad no wonder the burst into flames.

Setting up as a play toy on club rego, but may do a few of the Scenic Rim comps for fun .

Doing the toyota conversion to the diff and having cromo axles and CV's should keep the repairs down, wanted something I can play hard in and not break easy, down side to it is when it does let go it $$ will flow again.

You're the only one who seems to break RoverTracks stuff, though Schlomo...hell even cetain kiwis (who ripped Keith off by not paying for their axels and cv kits and subsequently sold the car without as much as offering to fix up their debt after 3 years) didn't break his axels on 38" and 40" tyres.

I think the problem must have been a PEBSWAC error.

Good luck with the Rangie Damo...though I suspect after a few runs down at Scenic you'll be missing the Homeless.

I'll have to put flares on it due to the offset of the rims -25 had to put these on to clear the arms and to give it a wider track and not have to put wheel spaces on

First test drive was at Farm, all good so far had some small issues with the power steer and brakes but that what happens when a car sits in a paddock for a few years, will test it at Scenic Rim this weekend at the Massojet Manufactures Funchana
