Need help with some wiring issue please

Post by Joel88 »

Hey guys and girls
I just bought a 87 lwb sierra 1.3 NT.

Bought it about 6 months ago on the round but lasted 2 day and now it hasn?t been back on the road since.

My main drama now is an electrical issue after melting some of the wires in the engine bay i replace both looms from a wide track as it as the wide track dash but now i have no high beam and indicators and my dash cluster all the needles bounce around. I have checked all the main things such as bulbs and fuse and to see if there is power and that all seems good just wondering if anyone would be able to give me ideas off what it could be.

Thanks Joel

I would be looking at Earth issues if the problem is widespread. Find a wire that should have earth on it, and earth it straight to the battery Neg. Make sure body earth from block to body is sound or run another to something solid on body. Something to start with. Why did it cook wiring in the first place?

Under the left hand side of the dash, there is a big plug make sure it hasn't come loose. As this will stuff everything up,and as said check all the earths you can find.If you can add a few more.

This is also fine.... But what if you take it direct to the mechanic, I hope your wire would be fixed accurately by the mechanic and would work efficiently. Let us know if that helps or not... Good Luck....!!
