Bilstein front shocks in patrol

Post by sir_142 »

Hey guys looking at possibly running some Bilstein 5125/5150 in the front of my patrol. Question is what valving suit a patrol? I have found some 255/70 valved shocks, how will these be on my gq swb 4.2 petrol? I'll either make new mounts to suit eye to eye setup or run pin to eye adaptors. Any help appreciated

Im running TJM XGS GOLD SHOCKS, I have tested them in comps all round AUS
They have German Valving & a 3 year warrinty, Ive flogged the living sh!t out of them
for years & they are still working fine.
WATCH THIS FOOTAGE OF SOME OF MY EARLY TESTING http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf475_Yy3F4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
they RRP for $169 each but at TJM UNDERWOOD all forum members get a discount on all TJM PRODUCTS
## FORUM PRICE = $119 each (there not a bilsten,but would be an inexpensive hard core/touring alternative)
cheers piggy

The first is way too soft.

I need more details on the 298/36?? These are not real figures but if it is 2980/3600 then it will be too soft on rebound and too firm on compression. If the 36 stands for 360 then way to soft on compression.

By the way TJM suck compared to Bilstein remote reservoir. Matt Moore now has them on his GU.

Where is TJM in underwood?

Thanks for the help mate, just looking at taking advantage of the US dollar and buying a couple thing from the states. Thought maybe I could get some bilsteins for the front of the shorty... Just hard because they don't have patrols over there

I didn't mean to offend you but it sometimes can't be helped. In a thread titled, "Bilstein front shocks in Patrol" a comparison is naturally made whether intended or not.

I have been re-valving and setting up the remote reservoir Bilsteins to bolt into the Patrol and I have spent enough money on this to know what valving is not going to work. I have them for sale on my web site for those who are interested in a bolt in solution.

For $200 each I could sell you a 5100 Bilstein that is 600mm extend or 550mm with the ideal valving that will bolt in and yes I get them from the USA in pretty silver.
