tyre beads

Gudday all!!
does anyone know anything about these tyre balance beads that go on the inside of the tyre ??????????
I am so sick of the 100's of weights falling of every time i go wheeling -
I have 35's on 15" rims and the outside of the tyre is a long way from the inside of the rim where the weights are stuck on so they never balance very well, its ugly having 100's of grams of lead stuck to bling rims as well,
my question is to the poeple who have used or current run balance beads :
what type works for you??
how much weight do i use in a 35/12.5/15 radial (MTZ)
how do i insert the stuff (does the tyre have to come off or can it be inserted through the valve)
and mainly WHERE DO I GET THE BEADS HERE IN AUS

Have you tried spinning the tyre on the rim? it takes awhile but you can balance the tyre to the rim and use less weight.

Phase balancing would be the first port of call.

Tried stick ons? - You'll need to clean the shyte out of the rim first but if you stick them on the inside then you"ll be less likely to lose them

yeah the stick on one is what im sick of -
so does anyone know anything about the internal balance beads??????? like where to get them or has anybody used them ??????

Have you tried to use search?

I have read enough to know I would use them as the last option. As others said. have the tyre rotated/re-positioned on the rim to balance out the two

you would have to break the bead to insert them (from memory, I think they are packed in a little bag that disintegrates in the tyre after insertion)

I find it funny that you are worried about the look of weights on "bling" rims, yet you go wheeling with bling rims on?

Cheers I'll remember to get the fitter to spend a bit more time, checked Ebay and found the bag of beads, it also looks like they can be inserted through a mini funnel kinda thing

My apologies - I didn't realise that offering to be somebodies winch bitch, or an extra set of hands to help pack rocks if necessary, or provide lunch in return for a good day out, because my car is off the road/can't justify fixing it at the current time due to extenuating circumstances, because I really just want to get out and see the tracks which I've been unable to do for some time, made me a tool.

Why would I come out on my road tyres when I have a perfectly good set of 33's on sunnies that are already on the car? Just sayin'...

If it makes you think any higher of me, I'll be out next weekend, and hell, I've even got my own tow rig now And If it doesn't I really don't care... I should stop biting the bait trolls leave lying around...

Oh, and can you post pics of your rig so I know which truck to put on jackstands so the wheels are just off the ground...? Wait wot?

I have used a powder type of balancing product that i heard they use in truck tyres. I bought 2 bags off my local beurepairs shop and used a funnel and patience to put it inside the tubes. It worked fantastic with a 35" Silverstone Extreme on flipped rims with rim protection. Although the rims where made to be perfectly balanced so it just had to balance the tyre.

How wide are your rims??
Maybe post up a pic of the setup you currently have, and we can then give a more detailed response to your questions.

I have a set of 33x12.5 Swampers on 15x8 sunnys, and they needed between 120-160g of weight on the rims to balance them out. Looks shit with all the weights on the rim, but they are play wheels/tyres, so it doesnt matter to me.

Theres no point getting agro at people that are giving you suggestions, you posted up the question.

if you read the orginal post you will see the tyre size! the rims are 15x8's and yes i thanked the people that gave helpful info and how is bagging me cause i said 15's are bling a helpful suggestion?? - I'm using the work computer at the moment cant post pic's - but if anyone wants to see, check out page 7 of the old yalwal thread - the jeep on six stage, and yes i forgot this site has alot of funny opinions

excelent thanks for that i think I'm going to give them a try - I have ordered the ceramic style beads wich can be inserted through the valve which is also advertised for larger style(truck) tyres, apparently i need 8 ounces of these ones in each 35/12.5/15 radial see how it goes

I've also seen tyre fitters use stick on weights on the inside of the rim (the air chamber) to balance up, when they're trying to phase balance them....

Could be worth an ask around?

By any means - I'd be interested in your results as I seriously doubt they could possibly work, but would be happy to be proven wrong...

Any more feedback on using balancing beads?

I am thinking about trying the bigger ceramic beads inside beadlocked creepys, these require no valve filters as they create no power.

I don't recommend them for 4wds. IMO for the fact when you air down they get stuck in the valve and cause issues. HDTV it happen Many many times with trucks when airing down for dirt roads. So I don't see how it'll be my good in a 4wd more of a hindrance then anything

I heard about this issue with the powder and the smaller beads.

I am going to try the newer bigger beads that need no filters, tyre bead has to be broken to install the balancing beads as they are to big to go down the tyre valve.

I found 8 golf balls per rim worked well in my old beadlocks

I have ordered 1 kg of the 2mm balancing ceramic beads.

I used the beads with a set of MTZ's (285/75 X 16) and found that driving at speed was fine but as you slowed down the steering wheel would rock left to right, not so much shake it was slower than that . The tyre shop was very good with me and tried various amounts of beads, the end result was they took the tyres off and sent them back to M/T and fitted BFG's, Ive done 80,000k's and not had a problem since .
