Way back when I ran 31" 's on an Xj. Had about 4" lift, and had to do some minor hammer work to fold back the panel join/lip inside the front guards.
Then cut the inner flare away and fitted 32"s.
My friends aren't holding me back..... I'm pulling 'em forward.

haha, good luck doing a bodylift on an XJ.

We've managed to get 34s under the XJ with some 50mm spacers, extended shackles and a fair bit of guard cutting and steering stop adjustment.

We could get bigger under there but then have to modify the gearing. 34's are borderline on stock gearing in the hilly stuff.

You also need to think about the rear axle with 35's as the D35 is not really the best candidate

But the real question is WHY 35's just because thats what everyone runs on a pootrol or land barge ? 35's on a XJ are unbelievable when done to work right see http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=95573 for some ideas. But in all honesty 33's seems to make a great balance on a XJ and will let you play in some big tracks and keep up with your mates

Right size tyres is also a factor of wheel base, front and rear departure angles, ramp over angle etc So dont think biggest is the only way to go

they're a 34x9.5 Narrow SS swamper on stock steel XJ maybe TJ Rims not sure. Being narrow they still give good lock to lock. We had to adjust steering stops a touch to stop the tyre rubbing on the control arm.

W're gonna run this setup for a while and see how it goes. it'll have a warn full floater kit installed into the D35 in the rear shortly with an airlocked centre. This should strengthen it up a touch. We've given it a flogging and it goes really well. We're racing it at Vic Winch end of this month so come down and have a look. Looks a bit different than in that pic. That was ealry days.

Hi... I know quite less about the vehicles but talking about the Jeeps, I am sure this is the only vehicle that can go to the harder areas any other Jeep can go. This is because of the body manufacturing and the technique that has been used in it that makes it more stronger.

errr...no.
In theory you could cut back enough to fit 35"s - but cutting would be very extensive...to the point that structural changes would be required...
