Water to air intercoolers

Where is this up to? Is there pictures of heat exchanger? Pump location? Do you run the heat exchanger pump always or on a temperature sensor?

Hey sorry guys, it has been on the back burner. I have been flat out trying to meet other impossible deadlines.

The kits for the 80series are great, lots of room. But the 75series I have run into dramas with mounting the heat exchanger, there just aint much room. I am guessing that a lot of you guys would run it on the tray anyways???

Once again sorry for the lack of updates, the project just got pushed aside due to being over booked. I am hoping to get everything finished and get these things on the market real soon.

We already produce water to air and air to air solutions for 75,76,78,79,80,100,200s cruiser.
Each kit is tested to the limit on the dyno and all logged data is sifted through to determin the happy medium between packaging, size, cost, reliability and performance.
Radiator sizing depends on the application.
They arent the cheapest kits you can buy but the intercooler cores we use are about the best you can buy. Not these cheap chinese ebay ripoffs.
I dont believe anyone else has tested a chinese core vs good quality, or they would see why its a waste of time using them.

Although i found the greatest improvement by removing the bottleneck into the intake manifold.

Perhaps sell a kit with a modified manifold thats still a bolt on. Make the inlet to the manifold atleast 80% its length or the total end size of the core used.

Ps; you need to advertise. No one has even seen your coolers b4.

@ Z()LTAN - We have done a bit of testing on the manifold, and it wasn't cost effective to sell the kit with the modified intake manifold such as the TD42 kit.
The gains we got out of it didnt justify the additional price for the kits.
Never really had the need to advertise, people seek us out to build kits like this for them. But we are starting to get a little bit of advertising out there now.

@ lshobie - Website still has alot of info missing from it at the moment sorry. We do have 79's 1HZ/1HDT kits available though.

U have to realize there is alot more to these w/a intercoolers than basic A/A ones.

Pumps, wiring, fans hoses all adds up fast.

Those barrel type intercoolers are about as useful as putting a bag of ice on your engine.

Its not built to budget sorry guys, everything I use in the kit is the best available product out there. If something isnt readily available, we make it.
Take the manifold to intercooler adaptor for example, its solid billet cnc machined alloy. No other kit has anything even resembling a decent air path into the manifold.
So its not for everyone, but you have to admit its a nice looking bit of gear right?

Great looking and very well built intercooler. Just 1 of those things though... The amount of money I would spend on the 1hdt. It would just be cheaper to bomb a LS2 and fit that. I dont want to do that though, and I just couldnt justify spending that kind of money.

BigBoy - Its good to see members having a crack at designing intercooler systems.
The only thing you have to take into consideration is..
Make sure the core you buy is a proper water/air (not a boxed in air/air)
The heat exchanger/radiator is big enough for your particular use (radiators out of a 4cyl petrol car often work well)
Most important is, smooth airflow in and out of the intercooler. No sharp edges, no radical bends etc..

Why are there no hybrids?
How does moisture and condensation affect ratio's? going from hot to cold.

How crazy does the idea of a front mount with the pipes running to and from it incased inside another larger mandrel bent pipe and charged with super cold non flamable gas. Wrapped to avoid heat soak. And some fins in certain places to chill the core of the pipe and help spiral the air on the internal corners.

And for the smarties out there you bend the larger pipe exact same and then cut it down the guts and reweld it around the smaller pipe with spacers.

How do you tell whether an intercooler is a proper a/w and not a boxed a/a...

......and slightly off topic...... also I see in other threads in the Nissan section that TD42/T intake manifolds are restrictive to some cylinders (cyl nos 1 and 6 in particular I would imagine). How was this done?... on a flow bench with the manifold on the head or by some other method.... also do the Toyotas suffer from the intake manifold restrictions like Nissans...has anyone done these types of calculations on the 2H/12HT and does anyone do the cut the top off the toyo manifold and add intercooler like has been done on the Nissans..
