Hey,
I've got a 4.8L Patrol with Sprint Gas Injection, driving home yesterday it gave all the signs of no gas (beeping and switched to petrol), thought it was funny as it had 1/2 a tank of gas. I filled it up and flicked it back to gas and same thing happened.
From what I understand, the system works on presure to determind if there is any gas left.
Any Ideas on waht I can check... It's only got like a 30L petrol tank and that don't last long.
I'm getting it booked in to be looked at but they cna't see me for a few days.
Any ideas?
Michael

oh and a spellcheck for you.
Re: Gas Issues
possibly check the wiring and line that goes to the pressure swtich (Should look like a MAP sensor) Im pretty sure that tells the LPG ECU what pressure gas is entering the injectors.

Re: Gas Issues
Quick update, after some investigation this morning, the lube bottle was empty (Strange as I filled it up 2 months ago). I topped it up, and the gas started working again....
I didnt realise it had a sensor attched t it

Re: Gas Issues
What did you do when you "fixed" the problem? DId you dismantle anything to get to the lube bottle?
The reason I ask is that I once had a fuel injected Citroen which regularly dropped back to 3 cylinders. I would remove the spark plugs and re-gap them to the minimum of the specified range and it would go for a day, a week or whatever and then start missing again. One night, it started missing again and I was lucky enough to have total blackness at the time. I lifted the bonnet and there, in front of me I could clearly see No 2 spark plug lead arcing to earth. I could never see this in daylight. I replaced the insulator tube and it never missed a beat after that.
So, did you disturb anything in order to get to the lube bottle and fill it? Are there any wires going to the lube bottle? If not, I doubt that the lube bottle would be the culprit.

Re: Gas Issues
Sory - i was too quick with my porevious reply. The main issue I was trying to make was that by removing the sparks plug to regap them, I was accidentally removing the main cause of the problem without even recognising it.
Re: Gas Issues
Yer, no didn't remove anything. It is in clear view

Re: Gas Issues
it could be anything with vapour injection, needs to be put onto the laptop and run diagnostics, alot of the time its the converter temp sensor failed or set up wrong.
