Grand Vitara Recovery

Post by greg »

Hey Grand Vitara Owners,

What do you use for recovery points front and rear (when helping others out of trouble of course ;) )...

Do you all just have a tow bar on the back with a rated shackle?

What do you do on the front?

Hey Overkill,

This thread mentions a Front Recovery Point from Overkill Engineering - what's the go with that?

Hi Greg,

I run a GV, and use a towbar with a shackle as my rear recovery point (also gives a bit of protection for the fuel tank, which is in a pretty average spot).

As for the front, I'm yet to get that sorted, but am thinking of getting some decent recovery hooks bolted/welded to the chassis, then just using an A-bridle.

Cheers,

Andrew.

I just bought a 2002 Grand Vitara and I'm trying to figure out how to mount a couple of recovery hooks on the front whilst still using the factory bumper bar and also a Equalising Strap.

Have you managed to work out how/where to mount them?

Cheers,

Ben
