Just found the competitor list on the Scenic rim site, and there's only 7 (corrected from 3, seems I can't count..) spots in modified class left!
Didn't count the open class but it was looking close to that magic number aswell!

Had a good day out there today. Thanks to all who came out!
Micky D managed a time of 19.35 excluding the play area, so allow another 2 - 5mins extra per lap. Also take into consideration there will be other vehicles and traffic on the day.
We have worked out the pit area, and each team will be allocated a 3x5m area to perform any vehicle repaires and refueling. Every competitor will be required to be within their bay with their vehicle by 7.30am sharp Sat morning (a penalty will apply if teams do not meet this requirement). This will allow sruitineering to take place before racing commences.
Modified class will run first taking off at 8.30am. Each team has until 12.00pm to make it past the start gate for their final lap. A sweeper car will be sent off to ensure the track is clear, before the Buggy/Truggy class kicks off at 12.30pm. Last car through the start gate will be 4.00pm. Once the track has been cleared, the Modified class Hill drags will commence. This gives the Buggy/Truggy guys til 7.00pm to prepare for their night stage.
An agreement has been made to allow competitors to camp within the park, so long as all persons are out of the campsites and into the spectator areas by 7.30 sharp! Racing will not commence until this safety measure has been met. Security will run around to ensure this takes place (so please be prepared for an early start). The other option is to camp outside in the overflow area where you will have access to your campsite all day.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Cheers

All helmets will be checked and required to have the AS1698 label stitched inside the helmet. That means no push bike helmets will comply.
Please read all the rules thoroughly as safetly can not be compromised

Rolly,

What are the hill drags going to be like, on a grass slope or on the side of the mountain will this be good for spectator viewing?

the hill drags are up the side of a hill approx 200mtr long and spectators will have plenty of viewing as the main track would have finished and people will have ample viewing areas.

big thanks to ben and rob and michael 2evil for all there help yesterday .
we managed to get crampys climb back to were it was prior to all the rain earlier in the year . it is definatly drivable now for those that were a bit concerned .
it is still not easy and picking the right line is a must as michael showed us by flopping his suzi after he got up the first step.
we got him back on his wheels and in 2 evil style he reversed back down and went again making it to the top.
thanks again guys .

Really wish i could have attended some of the working bees for this but it's a bit of a trek.

Nonetheless i'm sure all the competitors appreciate the effort that Rolly has put in to get this happening.

Will have to cross my name off the list even though it means I'm going to be majorly heckled by a select few....

But i had put my name down to get a spot without paying, and now with this shutdown going well and truly over schedule I'm stuck bloody working flat out up until Dec....
