cranky, when the arm is on the hub do any of the holes line up with the old hole on the lower arm? would you be able to utilize the old lower are for strength like the Slee offroad arms?

Mounted up my knuckles tonight in prep to move my panhard tomoz night and weld the heim sleeve in... all is good but found a couple of issues...
My longs will not fit through the hole in the knuckle, u need to remove the complete knuckle to remove a cv. (i don't think longs are any fatter than normal cv's?) U could die grind the small lip off that u can see in the pics and it should be all good. And I will b doing this when I have the gear.......
I cannot see any way of running the rear steering arm at the front of the diff as the panhard is in the way.

Have you looked at how many bolts there are on the high steer hub. It doesnt need to be bolted to the original tierod point.
The only way to run it in the front is get a left hand drive lower arm from the states, cut off the rear arms from it and vwwaahhaallaaa. But, I see no need to run them in the front unless your building a 4-5 link and want the clearance

Mostly finished the High steer tonight. It's moved the steering arm up 5" and that's as low as I could get it.
Had to move the panhard mount 12mm towards the drivers side so that I could get full lock as the arm would of hit the new mount. its mm perfect now.
Still have some tidying up to do, have to trim the drivers side arm down and cut off the lower passenger arm, and possibly a brace on the panhard mount. Does seem pretty strong tho.

Well all finished tonight, trimmed the lower passenger side arm off and cut the high steer arm down on the drivers side seeing as I won't be using it.
Now I have both the panhard and steering arm dead parallel (they both sit at 2 deg) and I seem to have a little bump steer, it may just be me taking more notice than usual..... I checked my housemates stock as a rock 80 and hers are parallel too..... hoping its just cos my steering wheel is still on upside down and making me think it bump steers

I'll guess that Hamo has spotted your factory "tie down" points on the chassis rail, consensus seems to be that they are just that, for tie down during transit. They arent intended for recovery/snatching etc and the forces generated. I've of heard of numerous failures and seen pics of them torn out of the chassis.

you know you should be using 4.75t rated shackles don't you? Should have a throat latch on that hook too. Oh yeah, your winch rope looks like it needs a tidy up too , otherwise, your good to go

Yep, but it will have to sit below the panhard. If thats high enough for you. Depending on the diametre of the hydro. It MAY just miss the panhard mount if higher.

well here we are a month later..i think ive given billy enough time on this one.. i must stress this is of no Fault of the guys from locktup. they are just as concerned about it.
the pictures speak louder than words ill add a few over a couple of posts.
These could be a great product but there is no Q/A
funny thing is they are as rusty now as when i recieved them and the rust must havce mysteriously happend during shipping....
a quick run down on some faults
Porosity in the casting... basically its like an aerobar. but this is ok according to billy bob.
machining is rubbish. there not even flat but hey theres 6 bolts holding the arms on...
Theres gouges out of the brake calliper mounting tab where its been crashed into.
they turned up covered in surface rust.. again this is ok by billy bob as it wont affect the strength of them...
Expensive set of paperweights and billy bobs soultion is to send them back to Locktup for a refund ...

That rust is no issue, perhaps they will spray them with a oil to stop that in future.

The issue is the Casting defects and the poor machining..the rust is just poor presentation for a $1200 product.
Ive pointed out to billy whats wrong with them, and some of the things needed to be done. To make them useable.
I liked the idea of them that’s why I bought them.. I wasn’t chasing a refund billy offered that in the first email.. Id like to see them replaced with a decent sound set. Not just my money back and swept under the carpet.

I just noticed Ice's post's so thought that i would check my spare out, I bought it months ago and its just been stored in the box it came in...
as u can see in the pics, theres no rust. I also checked it out for any porous holes or dents etc and I did find one small hole in the top (u can see it in the pic) its bugger all of a hole but it is there.
I have given the ones on my 80 a pounding and so far they have been good. no probs at all as yet.
My only issue with them is the fact the CV's wont fit thru the hole in the front of the hub, and that i had to space my brake caliper 1mm to clear my disc.
