Well the 80 series is starting to squeal when turning left only. Will only squeal under power, doesn't do it at a standstill and seems to diminish with speed however coasting left with no throttle there is no squeal at any speed.
I know there is a strong chance this.could be power steering related as it has been on its way out for years.
Also first started happening after a trip to lithgow and a few water crossings.
Any ideas?

Re: squeal when turning left
Hello Howsie,
Check the wheel bearings & steering upper or lower steer pivot bearing for wear or slop also see if U can see any visable signs of wear on the left tyre or even a bent steering rod I was having a simular problem on the r/side & it was in the pivot bearings being loose
Hope this may help

Re: squeal when turning left
Will do so today. Update atm as well as squealing when turning.left its now making a squishing noise when driving forwards for.some reason. Hoping its not.wheel bearing related as I only just has bearings donemrfras wrote:Hello Howsie,

A few more ideas...
I'm guessing you have checked power steering fluid level - if not try that.
Check all your belt tensions, and see if there is any grit embedded in the belt too. The grit can get stuck on the belt from muddy water crossings and then slip on the pulleys. - This happened to me a while back, Had to get new belts.

Re: squeal when turning left
Not belt squeal as it doesn't do it when turning wheel at a standstill, power steering unit is full but unit is almost gone and my power steering unit is gear driven not belt driven. By the look of your sig is have.thought your 80 would be the sameMcLarryBob wrote:A few more ideas...
