how much power??

Post by tassie wombat »

just wondering how much horsepower std gq running gear can take, upgrading the engine over the next couple of weeks from a stock 350 to 1 of the 2 following engines,

option 1-350 vortec,330 hp(240kw) 380 ftlb torque(515nm)

option 2-383 vortec,405 hp(300kw) 440 ftlb torque(600nm).

would prefer the 383 but dont want to break things every trip, ill be running 35" silverstone extremes, and apparently ive got a heavy right foot?thanks for any advice.

Plenty of people running these figures through GQ gear. IMO everything will be fine except CV's upgrade to heat treated or chomoly.

The rear diff is not the best if you have a
Heavy right foot on the road .
And I'd get the 383 100%
GQ with big nuts
