My compliance plate lists the model as NFX. Does anyone know what the "X" means.
Also, can anyone provide information on how to decode all the other information on a Pajeros compliance plate.
Thanks,
Sean.

I didn't think the 2.5 diesel was available in Aus with a Gen 1 swb let alone the TDI version ?? Is it an import or did you put that motor in ??
All my Paj stuff is packed up at the moment (shifting) so I can't help you with the VIN no data, maybe in a week or so when it's all upacked.

I just luv my "clacker Jabber"
I think you're correct about the 2.5 not being available in Oz Gen1 SWB Pajeros.
Mine is an import so there are quite a few differences to the models sold in Oz back in '88. Eg, trim level, electrics, disc/coil rear end. Other minor mechanical differences include odd size rear disc pad, oval air filter element (buggar to find - but not impossible) and apparently the Cam-belt is slightly different.
Once your settled back in, would certainly appreciate any info that you may have regarding original questions.
Thanks,
Sean.
