60 series diff into 75 series

can i put a 60 series rear centre into a 75 series troopy front diff and the 75 series front centre inthe back?????[91 model] i am contemplating doing this as i am thinking of putting auto lockers in the front and back[or the 60s diff in the rear ]sounds confusing any help appreciated,cheers mick

Diffs are interchangable. Only problem might be flanges for driveshafts dont match up but they can swapped to suit.

60 diffs are wider, you will have trouble getting a front 60 diff in sprung under. Some options available with hilux hubs etc.

im still keeping the 75 series housings, only want to change the centres around and if they are interchangable?

Yep, they are interchangable. Like I said, flanges might be different.

78's have a smaller front diff, obviously these aren't.

Is it a hzj75 or a hj75?

Hzj have small hp diff which is not interchangeable

its a hzj75 made in 1991

it is a high pinion in the front,it looks about the same size in diameter as the back

Sorry mate, gave you a bum steer, high pinion won't interchange with rear.

thanks for all the advise its been a great help, just pulling the spider gears out of the 60 series diff to install a lock right ,question is theres 2 shim/ spacers on the large spiders the ones the axles go into ,should i be reusing these on the lockright??????

Out of curiosity, what year/month did 75's change to HP front? I understand early HZJ75's still had the low pinion 9.5"??

its a hzj 75 troopy 91 model ive taken the rear lsd out and replaced it ith a 60 series open centre with a lockright, the front is a high pinion which ill take out next , but that is the same diameter as the back not a small diff,
